Transliteration

The good who eat what remains from sacrifice are released from all faults. Those who cook only for themselves eat wrongdoing.
Original King of Dwarka translationReflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 3.13
A meal arrives through more lives and labours than we can name. This verse locates eating within offering, rather than private entitlement. It can invite gratitude for what sustains us, and a practical question about who else our abundance might nourish.
Source & context
Krishna is explaining yajña, sacrificial offering, and the reciprocal order of food, rain and life. The verse concerns food remaining after offering; its meaning should not be reduced to a modern rule about eating alone.
