Therefore remember me at every moment, and fight. With mind and understanding offered to me, you will come to me alone, without doubt.
Original King of Dwarka translationReflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 8.7
Remembrance is asked to accompany the demands of the day. It need not wait for an hour with nothing else to do. In this verse, attention to Krishna and a difficult responsibility occupy the same life, with mind and understanding offered together.
Source & context
Following a discussion of remembrance at death, Krishna tells Arjuna to remember him at all times and fulfil his battlefield duty. The command to fight belongs to Arjuna’s situation; it is not a general instruction to violence.
