Bhagavad Gita 4.39

Krishna to Arjuna
श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं तत्परः संयतेन्द्रियः ।ज्ञानं लब्ध्वा परां शान्तिमचिरेणाधिगच्छति ॥ ३९ ॥

A person of trust, intent upon knowledge and governing the senses, gains knowledge. Having gained it, that person soon reaches the deepest peace.

Original King of Dwarka translation

Reflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 4.39

Trust can make us willing to stay with a teaching before we understand it fully. That willingness has work to do: attention, restraint and continued learning. The peace described here grows through knowledge, rather than through pretending that every question is already settled.

Source & context

Near the end of the chapter on knowledge and action, Krishna connects śraddhā, trusting commitment, with sustained attention and disciplined senses. Peace follows knowledge; the verse does not substitute belief for understanding.
