I am established in everyone's heart. From me come memory, knowledge, and their loss. I alone am to be known through all the Vedas; I am the maker of the Veda's culmination and the knower of the Veda.
Original King of Dwarka translationReflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 15.15
Memory and its limits appear within a larger account of presence. Neither recollection nor forgetting becomes a measure of someone’s worth.
Source & context
Krishna speaks of his presence in every heart. Apohana can mean loss or removal of knowledge, and is also read as discriminating removal of doubt.
