Transliteration
yataḥ pravṛttir bhūtānāṃyena sarvam idaṃ tatamsva-karmaṇā tam abhyarcyasiddhiṃ vindati mānavaḥ
By worshipping through one’s own work the one from whom beings arise and by whom all this is pervaded, a person attains perfection.
Original King of Dwarka translationReflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 18.46
Work may become an offering through the attention and care we bring to it. The verse connects a particular task with the source of all beings. That connection asks us to consider the quality of our service, even when the task itself receives little recognition.
Source & context
Krishna describes worship through one’s own work within a discussion of duties shaped by nature and the historical social orders. The verse’s divine referent is the source of beings who pervades all. It does not declare every occupation or action ethical.
