Bhagavad Gita 2.13
Krishna to Arjunaदेहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा ।तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ॥ १३ ॥
Transliteration
dehino’sminyathā dehe kaumāraṃ yauvanaṃ jarātathā dehāntaraprāptirdhīrastatra na muhyati
As the embodied self passes through childhood, youth, and age in this body, so it comes to another body. The steady person is not confused by this.
Original King of Dwarka translationReflection inspired by Bhagavad Gita 2.13
Childhood has already become memory, and the person who remembers has lived through many changes. Krishna carries that observation beyond a single life. In the presence of loss, this teaching offers a larger horizon without making the person we miss replaceable.
Source & context
Krishna answers Arjuna’s sorrow by distinguishing the embodied self from its changing body. The verse teaches continuity through another embodiment, not only change within one lifetime.
