The visible place

What you see today

Sudarshan Setu connects Okha on the mainland with Bet Dwarka. Its cable-stayed structure and long sea crossing give it a visual identity entirely different from the smaller suspension footbridge at Gomti Ghat.

The official design description includes Krishna imagery and Bhagavad Gita verses along the pedestrian areas. These are contemporary devotional references integrated into modern engineering.

History, carefully read

What is documented

The Government of India’s inauguration record is dated 25 February 2024. It identifies the endpoints, cable-stayed design and approximate length of 2.32 kilometres.

Those are infrastructure facts. The bridge is not an ancient structure, and neither its name nor its decorative programme establishes the age of buildings on the island. There is no ancient reconstruction of Sudarshan Setu in this guide.

Before you go

A little
orientation.

Use Okha as the approach to Bet Dwarka. Follow current traffic, stopping and pedestrian directions on the bridge.
